Bray has an MBA in finance from the University of Maryland at College Park, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He maintains Series 66 securities and insurance licenses. Bray lives in West Asheville with his spouse, Dustin Rhodes. He is Board President of Asheville Community Theatre, and formerly served on the Boards of Asheville Humane Society as well as Primarily Primates, Friends of Animals, Urban Dharma NC. Every week, he delivers meals to the elderly and homebound for Meals on Wheels of Asheville & Buncombe County. He is a member of The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment and the Financial Planning Association.

Chad Storck

Chad holds a master’s degree in taxation from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in North Carolina. He worked for the largest regional public accounting firm in the Southeast before establishing Storck CPA, P.C. with his wife, Andrea, in 2009. Throughout his two decades in public accounting, Chad has helped individuals and small, closely held businesses navigate day-to-day operations, budgeting, tax planning, income tax preparation, retirement planning, and succession planning. He strives to distill complex issues into plain English, helping clients to move forward with confidence. Chad and Andrea moved to Asheville in 2004 after falling in love with the area during their Appalachian Trail thru-hike. They continue to embrace life’s “adventure” every day with their daughter, Maya.

Khrista Wood

Khrista brings uncompromised commitment to her role of supervising client services and operations. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry, she began her career at Bank of America and then moved into operations with Joel in 1995. She holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, a North Carolina life and health insurance license, and her certificate for Long Term Care Insurance, giving her the ability to help ensure clients receive quality service from a knowledgeable investment professional. When she’s not working with clients, Khrista enjoys spending time with her children, Colin and Barret.

A financial advisor since 1985, Joel spent his career helping clients establish and reach their goals through a full range of financial services, including education planning, estate planning, asset allocation and professional asset management. He founded Joel Adams and Associates in 1994 to connect on a deeper level with individual clients, aligning each person’s unique values and beliefs with their financial objectives. An Asheville native with a global perspective, Joel strongly believes in giving back to his community and has served on the boards of many local organizations. Though he retired in 2023, Joel continues to participate on our investment committee, where his deep expertise and insight remain invaluable.
